CAMPUS

The College campus is situated in Kuvempunagar, Mysore which is a highly ethnically populated area, mid of the city, having the India's Largest Health Care Providers Apollo BGS Hospital inside the same campus. There is excellent access by bus and rail services. Affordable student accommodation is available. The College building offers appropriate sized and well-equipped classrooms, together with a common room and light refreshment facilities. You will be within close proximity to city centres where you can take advantage of all the facilities the cities have to offer.

CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT: The college is ideal and conducive for learning. With its central location with easy to access buses (directly outside the college) make it very comfortable and easily accessible place for students to concentrate on their studies

 

TEACHING ROOMS & LABORATORIES:

The class rooms are free to accommodate 60 students per class, well ventilated with appropriate power supply and all the facilities as per the INC requirement are made available.

 

AUDITORIUM & SEMINAR HALL:-

 

 

 

 

  • We have a big auditorium were we can accommodate more than 500 people at a time. We do conduct conferences and seminars in this hall for the students.
  • A separate seminar hall is also there with LCD facilities for the students if they are less in number.

 

LABORATORIES:-

The Institution has about 7 laboratories ( Anatomy lab, Biochemistry & microbiology lab, Fundamentals of Nursing Lab, Community Lab, OBG lab, Paediatric lab and Educational & AV Aids lab) based on the requirements of the students which are well equipped for serving the student to make their learning ease.

 

LIBRARY:-

We have a well established library neatly arranged with enough books in all the speciality in Nursing as well general books. It is also equipped with the International and National journals related with their subjects as well in general. For the convenience of the students it will be opened from Morning 9am to evening 8 pm daily except on holidays.

 

DISCIPLINE: The institution expects a high degree of discipline from the student. The student should be dressed smartly, maintain time in all chores assigned to them, be attractive in personal hygiene and above all an exemplary behavior, The management takes a serious view of students, who strike or boycott classes and such irresponsible behaviors wil not be tolerated.

Students found guilty of provoking, instigating, leading or participating in any illegal strike or boycott of classes, ragging, will be summarily dismissed.

UNIFORM: The students are required to wear the uniform as prescribed by the institution.

 

VACATION AND HOLIDAYS:

Students are eligible for one month (30 days) leave annually. This is arranged according to the convenience of the institute as well academic progress. Annual vacation 30 days Sick leave 10 days

Preparatory holidays of 10 days for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Nursing and 7 days for GNM students during this period the students are expected to be in the hostel for studies.

 

Mentor System

All students at college would be given an "individual learning plan" throughout the semester and their progress would be monitored accordingly. Students who encounter difficulty in coping with their studies are also placed under pastoral care of the mentors who provide extra tutorial and academic counselling sessions. They will be grouped based on their study pacing and will be given schedule for their studies under the guidance of the teaching staffs and that's the reason we have got an excellent result.

 

Health monitoring:

Each student will undergo a thorough health check up and will be immunized before sending them to the hospital for their posting purpose. A continuous health monitoring will be done and a health record will be maintained for the students which helps us to rule out the deviance in their health and prompt treatment.

Overseas Students :

We have students from various countries to whom we help them in order to get visa extensions and other immigration matters. We support the students with a strong legal authority of the college till they complete their course.

 

ATTACHED HOSPITALS AND COMMUNITY CENTRES

APOLLO BGS HOSPITALS, MYSORE:

We are very much proud enough to state that we are attached with the India's largest health care provider that's our APOLLO BGS HOSPITALS, MYSORE. This is the 350 bedded multispecialty hospital that provides the international standard care for their patients. The students will be posted here for their practice and completing the requirements.

KRH AND CHELUVAMBA:

We also post our students in the general hospitals KRH which is a Multi speciality government hospital and cheluvamba hospital for maternity and paediatric health services. They are about 1050 bedded hospital. Students can get a better exposure with all the critical conditions and it provokes learning through practical care with the patient.

COMMUNITY CENTERS:

Students are posted in the community areas, we have access with the rural as well urban PHC's in various places like Kadakola village, Jayanagar, Illvala etc. The students are posted in different clinics conducted in the PHC's along with the physician were they are allowed to do the procedures freely and develop skill on them.

PSYCHIATRIC POSTINGS:

The students are posted in the reputed psychiatric hospitals and rehabilitation centres were they are exposed to the critical and chronic psychiatric patients and learn through them. They do have classes in the hospitals taken by the experts in that field during their postings. They do involve in various activities to recreate and rehabilitate them.

 

HOSTEL

INFRASTRUCTURE: The hostel no it's the home environment that we provide for the students. We have two store building for girls hostel that is attached with the college campus itself. It has enough rooms to accommodate the students freely as well we assure complete security for the student and their valuables they have.

ROOMS:

Rooms are accommodated with the students in the following basis:

  • M.Sc Nursing students -3 students per room.
  • B.Sc Nursing students - 6 students per room.
  • Dormitory system for the GNM students.

             

RECREATION:

  • TV provisions are provided for each store for the students during the week ends and daily 1 hour permission for watching news.
  • Indoor game articles are available for the students to relax themselves.
  • Hostel day celebrations and competitions are conducted for the students.

 

MESS:

We know the importance and value of the food in our life so we take special care for the preparation of menu

  • For Malayalee students we provide red rice and menus based on the Kerala style.
  • For the other students from other states we do provide white rice as per their taste the students are provided options for taking the food.
  • Non vegetarian food is provided thrice in a week as well the vegetarian food is also provided for vegetarian students.
  • We assure a very tasty food like that we have in your home.

 

VISITORS AND VISITING HOURS:

Visiting lounge is provided for the parents and students for the visiting hours. o The visitors can see their students on weekends and if necessary they too can visit them during the week days without disturbing the college hours o A pass system will be provided for the student's family members alone to visit them.

Extracurricular Activities enable you to learn other aspects of life those which are not taught within the college it self like sportsmanship, team work, common sense etc. They are all needed in today's world and Extracurricular Activities give us a chance to put them into practice. This also allows you to have an interest out of the classroom and expand your knowledge and experience in it.

 

SPORTS:

Health being the treasure of whole life we do organize lot of sports competitions. We have the heritage of conducting Sports with in Our college for every years as well we are honoured by conducting the Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences. Bangalore. Zonal Sports meet Our college has been a part in conducting university level Zonal sports for all the Students of various program comes under the university.

 

CULTURALS:

We Conduct Cultural program as a part of Student nurses association activities We send our students to other college for Inter collegiate competitions
